Dear Diary,
My most significant moment in 2008 was in Chinese class in school.
The teacher had announced that there was a test the following day. As I, an absent-minded person, forgot about the test. The teacher walked into class the next day, holding a stack of papers and said loudly to keep away all textbooks as the test would commence soon.
Shock gripped me like a tight fist when I realized I had forgotten about the test. Cold sweat started pouring down my neck like a dam which was just released. Oh no, I thought. I will flunk this test!
The paper had been passed to me. I stared at the questions as the teacher commenced the test. With shaking fingers, I started to attempt the questions. At the end of the test, I had only finished two out of ten questions!
That night, I could not sleep. I was worrying about my test. The next day, the teacher returned the papers. I got 0 for it. I was reprimanded harshly by both my teacher and parents.
A week later, the teacher announced for another test. This time, I quickly scribbled it down into my diary. When I reached home, I immediately took out my Chinese textbook. I must do well for this test! I told myself.
The next day, the teacher gave out the papers again. This time I was well prepared. I finished the test quickly and spent the rest of the time checking my answers.
I slept well that night and awaited excitedly my results. The following day, the teacher praised me for doing exceptionally well in the test--clinching full marks! I was overjoyed.
I learnt from this experience not to take things for granted and to do my best for everything I do.
